CRM Group has developed a multi-purpose breakthrough casting technology which is currently under industrial implementation: the HJN (Hollow Jet Nozzle). It enables closely controlling the structure of the metallic product, and more precisely allows:

• Reduction of central segregation
• Refinement of the solidification structure
• Modification of the steel composition during casting sequence
• Improvement of addition yields for easily oxidable elements
• Casting new steel grades such as composite steels with addition on exogeneous particles or innovative steels with variable properties along product thickness
