Both elements are analysed with three IR cells.  The inductive furnace allows to reach very high temperatures for degradation of all C and S –based compounds.  For 1 g of sample (of steel for instance), the following compositions can be analysed: 

Such wide ranges are necessary to analyse mostly all types of steels and other types of matrix (minerals, by-products, sinter product, dusts …).  In case of steels, very clean ones as well as advanced steels and resulpurised steels can be directly analysed.  But in some cases, the equipment parameters can be adapted to the matrix to be analysed.  For example, in the case of cast iron, the analysed weight will be adapted to be inside the analytic intervals.  In case of ceramics, specific melting agent will be added to complete the C and S- based compounds.

This equipment will be used in the ISO 17025 accreditation of CRMasbl for steel analysis.
